Jewish Genealogical Society of Montreal Supporting JGS-Montreal

The Jewish Genealogical Society of Montreal is one of more than 90 Jewish genealogical societies worldwide. Although relatively small, with fewer than 100 members, the JGS of Montreal has made significant contributions to the study of Jewish family history for both its members and genealogists all over the world with a Montreal or Canadian connection. The Society has ongoing programs to digitize and index Canadian naturalization records, Quebec civil records, Jewish cemeteries in Quebec, and Yiddish obituaries.

Donations

Although much of our work is done by volunteers, there are costs associated with some of these projects. Activities of the JGS of Montreal are funded through membership dues, proceeds from the making available records in its collections and donations.
